Back in the spring of this year, the Centre Pompidou announced its plans to open a contemporary art center in Saudi Arabia. Its location has also been decided — in the historic AlUla district, next to Mada’in Salih, the UNESCO World Heritage site. Now it has become known that the new museum of contemporary art, which is to be situated in AlUla, entered into a cooperation agreement with the Centre Pompidou, which will contribute to the exhibition by showcasing pieces from its collection and inviting Saudi artists to participate in the selection process. The museum building is being designed by Paris-based architect Lina Ghotmeh.
