Christie’s auction house   has announced a sensational  auction sale to   be held in November. The collection of  Paul Allen,  “a philanthropist and innovator”, who died four years ago, will be put up to auction in New York. The co-founder of Microsoft company eagerly purchased American paintings of the second half of the XX century. But later, he started buying classical  museum masterpieces of the  XYII-XIX centuries. Christie’s presents  a painting from the series  Mont Sainte-Victoire by Paul Cézanne as one of  the auction’s top lots. Though the exact composition of the collection is not  unveiled yet.  Maybe,  the auction house intends to sell it as a  whole. In this case a prospective buyer should pay  1 billion  dollars.
