The Mona Lisa harbors numerous mysteries that have captivated minds for over five centuries. And now, one of these has been revealed. Italian historian Silvano Vinceti has successfully identified the bridge depicted behind Gioconda’s back. He asserts that it is the Etruscan-Roman bridge, Romito di Laterina, located near Arezzo across the Arno River. Currently, this structure features only one arch. However, Vinceti’s research into historical documents revealed that it originally had four arches. During the time Leonardo da Vinci resided near the Arno, the river was bustling with activity. This era coincides precisely with the commencement of the artist’s work on the painting.
