Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) is building a new business aviation maintenance centre by ExecuJet MRO Services that can accommodate up to 24 business jets simultaneously. The 15,000 sq m facility has been specifically designed to cater for the largest business jets, including the Falcon 6X and Falcon 10X, as well as other large aircraft from various manufacturers.
The company has noted an increase in the number of business jets arriving at DWC and attributes this to incentives from the airport authority and FBO operators, such as reduced landing and parking fees at the airport. “The large hangar gates have now been installed, an indication that the construction phase is nearing completion, says Nick Weber, regional vice president of ExecuJet MRO Services in the Middle East. – Dubai is the hub for so much global traffic that it deserves a major investment in MRO capacity.”
The company will relocate base maintenance at DWC from Dubai International Airport (DXB), but will retain AOG capabilities at DXB. Dassault Aviation’s ExecuJet MRO Services is the factory service centre for all Dassault Falcon aircraft in production. It also provides line and basic maintenance for Bombardier, Embraer Executive Jets and almost all types of Hawker business jets.
