This momentous event will take place very soon, in June. In addition to 35 culinary destinations in Europe, North and South America, and Asia-Pacific, a Michelin Guide will also appear in Dubai. The gastronomic diversity of the emirate is staggering: more than 200 cuisines from around the world are served here, from traditional Arabic to exotic Peruvian.

“We are incredibly pleased that Dubai has become one of the destinations of the world-renowned Michelin Guide. This recognition, along with the Tripadvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards 2022, where our city was selected as the world’s most popular destination by tourists and travellers, tells us that the emirate is turning into an international gastronomic hub, shared Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing Corporation. – All these achievements were made real by the emirate’s leaders who set the goal to make Dubai the most popular tourist destination and the best city to live and work in.” The success on the way to achieving this goal is evidenced by the figures: in 2021 the city welcomed 7.28 million visitors, which is 32% more than in the previous year.

For his part, Gwendal Pulleneck, international director of Michelin Guides, commented: “We are very pleased that Dubai has joined the Michelin family and that we will present our selection of “star” establishments to the public in mid-year. We will showcase the best of Dubai’s gastronomy, not only the luxury and richness for which the city is famous, but also the diversity of cultures. Alongside the outposts of many internationally renowned chefs, we will also focus on local establishments.” Restaurants will be selected according to five criteria: quality of ingredients, craftsmanship, harmony of flavours, the personality of the chef and consistency in both time and menu. The guide’s selection will also include the Bib Gourmand category, which brings together establishments that offer three-course meals at a reasonable price. The entire Michelin Dubai Guide will be available online at guide.michelin.com.
