From 20 to 24 May, a festival of gastronomy will take place in Halkidiki, on Kassandra peninsula, at the famous Sani resort. This year Sani Gourmet celebrates its 15th anniversary and on this occasion presents the culinary masters of modern Greek cuisine. Among them: multiple award-winning chef Sotiris Evangelou from Salonica restaurant in Thessaloniki, who will be responsible for the masterpieces of Fresco restaurant during the festival; Lisa Kermanidou, one of the most talented young pastry chefs in Europe, who previously worked at Roka and Claridge’s and is currently the head pastry chef at Pantechnicon; Adam Kontovas, head chef of Alali restaurant in Santorini and Kobra restaurant in Athens – he will create in Asian restaurant Asian.
A total of ten legendary chefs will be taking part in the festival. Together with the Sani Resort chefs, they will collaborate to create truly unique sets. Exquisite five-course dinner options, paired with select wines, will be offered.
The Sani Gourmet Festival will bring together four of the resort’s restaurants. Among them is Water, the gastronomic flagship of the Sani resort, spoiling guests with upscale Mediterranean and French cuisine, where signature dishes are perfectly paired with Greek and international wine brands. The Tomato Restaurant at Sani Marina boasts an innovative menu from Chef Karamolegos, specialising in grilled meat and fish dishes. The Italian restaurant Fresco, at Sani Dunes, is best known for its elegant and sophisticated style by Michelin-starred chef Ettore Botrini. This master of Italian cuisine uses only the finest local produce. By the way, the main ingredients at the Sani Gourmet Festival will be john dory fish, mussels, olive oil, fresh fruit and vegetables, showcasing the vibrant palette of flavours from Greece and used in international cuisine. Finally, the fourth participating Sani Gourmet restaurant is Asian, at Sani Marina, led by chef Thiou, known throughout France for her Parisian restaurant of the same name, Thiou. At Asian, guests can enjoy Asian-inspired fusion cuisine.
During the festival, guests at the Sani resort will also be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery, beaches and pools, while those who prefer outdoor activities will appreciate the Rafael Nadal Tennis Centre and the Bear Grylls Survival Academy. One of the latest additions to the resort is the renovated and expanded Porto Sani Hotel, where two restaurants are opening for the 2022 season: Lima, which will introduce guests to the achievements of Peruvian cuisine, and Elia, where traditional Greek dishes will be presented in a modern interpretation.
