The Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art will be held from May 5 to July 16. His rich creative legacy dates all the way from 1954 – when, as a very young man, he won an award for his overcoat design at a competition organized by the International Wool Secretariat – to January 2019, when he, for the first time ever, could not show up at the presentation of his Chanel collection. The exhibit will include about 150 pieces of clothing and sketches for Balmain, Patou, Chloé, Fendi, Chanel, and the Karl Lagerfeld label.
