The magnificent One & Only Portonovi is just over a year old, but it has already established itself as a resort ready to offer guests the most exquisite gastronomic delights on the Montenegrin coast. This refers to both the culinary traditions of the world and the local flavours of the Adriatic. This summer the resort offers the atmosphere of Istanbul.
From 15 June, the cosy La Veranda restaurant will be serving a special menu from the Turkish gastronomic project KOR Grill & Bar, coordinated by Mehmet Gürs and Cihan Cetinkaya. The concept plays on the modern twist on the traditional Turkish charcoal barbecue of Ocakbaşı, restaurants with an open grill area in the heart of the venue are often found on the streets of Istanbul and southeastern Anatolia. The culinary pop-up menu at One & Only Portonovi Resort will feature traditional Turkish dishes, party snacks and a collection of KOR Grill & Bar signature cocktails, local wines and beers.
“Following the principle that eating is a continuous process of enjoyment, guests can begin their meal with spreads by ordering a few portions of meze, continue with snacks including marinated prawns in tomato juice with spices, beef jerky in red wine with grilled figs and mint, or chig köfte – a spicy mixture of raw beef, gourmet bulgur and radish wrapped in lettuce leaves,” says chef Mehmet Gürs. – “Afterwards, grilled dishes and salads for company are a must. Grilled aubergines in a citrus sauce with tahini and a warm salad with octopus in a sweet and sour pomegranate sauce are among the specialities on the menu. Meat lovers will appreciate tender lamb chops with spices in a honey and almond glaze, as well as the slow-roasted lamb shoulder with side dishes.”
The pop-up Turkish restaurant KOR Grill & Bar at the One & Only Portonovi resort in Montenegro can be visited throughout the summer, until 15 September, 2022.
