Thanos Hotels & Resorts group is the creator of Antasia Beach Club, located on one of the island’s best sandy beaches, Kato Paphos, near the Almyra and Annabelle hotels. From morning until late afternoon, guests are welcome, whether you fancy a coffee while gazing out to sea, organising a family or friend lunch, or relaxing on one of the sun loungers. After sunset, enjoy delicious evening meals, dancing to hot DJ sets and signature cocktails.
Cypriot architectural studio Psomas has created a minimalist design for the club, using glass and stone. Antasia is a bright two-storey space with both outdoor and indoor seating areas. The roof terrace offers views of Paphos Castle from a dramatic spiral staircase that seems to float in the air.
The Baranowitz + Kronenberg architectural firm, renowned for their work on the W Hotels in Ibiza, Amsterdam and Prague, is responsible for the club’s interiors. Antasia features a win-win bet on natural raw materials and white. “When we started working on Antasia, we knew right away what kind of space we wanted to create. It was important for us to pay homage to the surroundings of beautiful coastal Paphos, the sea and its influence on the city,” say Alon Baranovitz and Irene Kronenberg, co-founders of the architectural firm.
The menu for the beach club, which combines local produce with an Asian flavour, was developed by Hungarian chef Akos Richweiz under the direction of titled master David Goodridge. Some of the highlights include the spicy cashew nam-phrik dip, fresh sushi and sashimi, the signature burger with prawns, papaya and mango, the spicy Gai Tod chicken with lime and coriander on banana leaves, and the vegan salad with pickled tofu, wakame and ponzu.
