A year ago, on 1st June, the first and only Airelles Château de Versailles hotel, Le Grand Contrôle, opened its doors in the magnificent Palace of Versailles. Lovers of offbeat holidays can now discover the magnificent setting of the palace, the era of Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette. Only a few moments have passed, by the standards of eternity, and here it is, the first birthday. Within a year Le Grand Contrôle has become one of the most popular places in the world. This is not surprising, since it is more than just a hotel, it is “a collection of unique experiences”.

Every morning before the Palace of Versailles opens to tourists, hotel guests are given an exclusive guided tour of the Trianon and Marie Antoinette’s Village (Hameau de la Reine). In the evening, a guided private tour of the palace takes you to the state residence of King Louis XIV, the Queen’s apartments and the Mirror Gallery, Versailles’ most famous room. In addition, the Airelles Château de Versailles, Le Grand Contrôle team offers unique programs upon request, which may include fitting authentic gowns, attending a private performance at the Royal Opera House, caring treatments at Spa Valmont and dinner at the French Pavilion, as Marie Antoinette loved. Airelles Château de Versailles also offers two hours of horseback riding in the royal gardens. Riding has always been an important part of life at the palace.
