Blancpain presents two new interpretations of the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet: a red gold version with a blue gradient dial and a titanium version with an anthracite dial. The different styles combine the sporty character of the famous Fifty Fathoms diver’s watch with a traditional full calendar with moon phases.
The Bathyscaphe is an “every day” diver’s watch and was created in 1956. One of the staples of the Fifty Fathoms collection, it has evolved over the years. And in 2013, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Fifty Fathoms, it evolved into the Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet. The model was fitted with day, month and date indicators. Information on the dial has been supplemented by the moon phase, located in a large window at 6 o’clock. The self-winding movement 6654.P of this Bathyscaphe model was equipped with a security system. This allows the wearer to control each indication at any time without any risk to the movement, unlike a conventional calendar watch.
The new Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet with a diameter of 43 mm and water resistance to 30 bar (around 300 metres) with clearly defined contours is available in two satin-finished versions: red gold and grade 23 titanium. The red-gold model is complemented by a dial with a blue sunburst gradient. The gold hour-markers, hands and the moon are the same colour as the case and the dial is framed by a unidirectional rotating bezel with a glossy blue ceramic inlay featuring a Ceragold™ time-keeping scale. The combination of colours and materials is continued on the case back, where the red gold rotor is visible.
The titanium model features subtle shades of grey. Its anthracite sunburst dial is enhanced by gold hour-markers, rhodium-plated hands and a moon. A matching anthracite ceramic bezel with a satin-brushed finish, giving it a contemporary brushed finish, is graced with the Liquidmetal™ graduation scale. The anthracite NAC coating gives the gold rotor a sporty and dynamic look.
The Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet red gold watch is available either with a blue NATO strap or a sailcloth strap, the latter with a choice of a foldover clasp. The titanium model is fitted with a titanium bracelet or a grey NATO or sailcloth strap.
